Become a STaRS donor! We are always looking for new donors to join our roster of STaRS donors. No amount is too small (or too big!). We have a number of different sponsorship opportunities outlined below, but are also always glad to receive any donation. We are a registered non-profit charity, and will issue tax-deductible receipts for donations of $25 or more.
Therapeutic Riding Bursaries:
$80 for one 30-minute ride
$115 for one 45-minute ride
$2,080 for one 30-minute ride for 6 months
$4,160 for one 30 minutes ride for 12 months
$2,990 for one 45-minute ride for 6 months
$5,980 for one 45-minute ride for 12 months
Equine Facilitated Learning:
$155 for 1 one hour session
$620 for 4 one hour sessions
$1240 for 8 one hour sessions
$25,000 – Program Facility Rental (riding ring)
STARS is looking to rent a working ring so riders can safely learn and practice more advanced riding and horsemanship skills.
$12,000 – Sponsor a STaRS Horse
This is the approximate cost per year to keep a horse, and hence a very large expense.
$5,000 – Adaptive Equipment Fund
Adaptive saddles, stirrups, hand holds are included in this fund. Right now we are looking to purchase new bareback pads and rainbow reins.
$900 – Annual Farrier Care per Horse
STARS horses spent a great deal of time walking on the roads. Their hooves need regular and special care.
$3,000 – Horse Training
This includes the skills that a therapeutic horse needs like standing still at the mounting ramp, being comfortable and safe while led on either side.
$5,000 – Instructor Training
STaRS instructors need to be specially trained and certified. They also constantly need to be updating their knowledge and skills.
$1000 – Volunteer Development, Networking, and Appreciation Activities
